I've wanted to work with teeth for as long as I can actually remember. Growing up in Orange County, I was the weird kid who didn't notice people's hair or eye color first, but their smiles. So when I chipped my front tooth on the side of a pool in fourth grade and my dentist let me watch him fix it up close, that was basically it for me. Curiosity became a direction, and I never really looked back.

I went to dental school at Midwestern University in Arizona, then spent three years working as a general dentist in Orange County before following my instincts into the surgical suite. I did my periodontal residency at the University of Washington and have been practicing in San Diego ever since. Ten years in, and I still find the work genuinely interesting. That's not nothing.

Joining me is Dr. Edithann Graham, who brings 30 years of periodontal experience to the practice. Between us we've seen a lot, and that breadth of perspective is something patients and referring doctors feel pretty quickly. Outside the office, I stay connected to why I got into this through Smile Outreach International, I've traveled to Tonga, Tanzania, Fiji, the Dominican Republic, and Honduras to provide dental care to communities with limited access to it. That work keeps me grounded in what actually matters about this profession.

When you call us, you're talking to Shannon, our office manager, front desk lead, and honestly the person who sets the tone for your first visit. From there you're in the hands of a small, tight-knit team that works together closely enough to actually know what's going on with every patient who comes through the door. People leave saying the office feels relaxed and comfortable, nothing like the stiff, sterile clinical spaces they were bracing for. That's not an accident. It's just what we built.

Periodontal care, gum grafting, implants, and more: all under one roof

We focus on the treatments patients actually need from a periodontal practice: periodontal disease treatment including deep cleaning and scaling & root planing, gum grafting (also called soft tissue or gingival grafting), bone grafting, extractions, and dental implant placement and maintenance. We also do osseous surgery, crown lengthening, sinus lifts, oral cancer screenings, biopsies, frenectomies, and more. Oral conscious sedation is available for patients who want a little extra support staying comfortable.

One thing that brings a lot of patients and referring doctors specifically to us is LANAP, a laser-based approach to treating periodontal disease that not many offices in San Diego offer. We also have CBCT imaging in-house, which means better planning and more predictable outcomes before we ever start treatment. Whether you're coming in for a straightforward deep cleaning or something more involved, you'll have access to the technology and experience to get it done right.
